CRISP Scored Mangroves (CRISP-M) is a unique token designed to address the challenges of financing climate action, specifically in the realm of mangrove restoration. Traditional approaches in the Voluntary Carbon Market create hurdles for project developers, as they often receive carbon credits retroactively while facing significant upfront costs. This situation limits access to capital and slows down impactful climate initiatives. CRISP-M allows mangrove restoration project developers to forward-sell their anticipated carbon credits at a discount. The discount is structured so that it decreases as the delivery timeline approaches. One CRISP-M token represents the future value of one ton of carbon credits generated from mangrove restoration, reaching full value at maturity when it can be exchanged 1:1 for the underlying carbon credits, minus applicable fees. As the project credits tied to CRISP-M near their delivery dates, the discount is gradually transferred to liquidity providers, ensuring a sustainable source of liquidity incentives. This mechanism protects the value for existing token holders while promoting a more transparent financing model for climate actions. All projects are vetted under the Carbon Risk Identification and Scoring Principles (CRISP) Framework established by Solid World. This framework mitigates risks associated with under-delivery and includes replacement guarantees from suppliers, alongside approval from the Curation Council, which consists of key liquidity providers for CRISP-M. In essence, CRISP-M operates as a decentralized platform for climate finance, effectively connecting buyers and sellers over time as carbon credits are verified and made available.
