Reserve Rights

Reserve Rights (RSR) is an ERC-20 token designed to support the Reserve protocol, primarily focusing on the overcollateralization and governance of Reserve stablecoins, known as RTokens. Launched in May 2019 after a successful initial exchange offering, RSR plays a crucial role in ensuring the stability and functionality of the Reserve ecosystem. The utility of RSR extends beyond governance, as it acts as a safeguard for RToken holders against potential collateral token defaults. RSR holders can stake their tokens on specific RTokens or distribute them across multiple RTokens, providing a buffer of first-loss capital. In return for this support, stakers are rewarded with a share of the revenue generated by the RTokens they back, with returns generally increasing alongside the market cap of the staked RToken. One of the unique aspects of Reserve Rights is its innovative approach to stablecoin backing. Unlike traditional stablecoins that rely on fiat reserves, Reserve stablecoins are supported by a diversified basket of cryptocurrencies managed via smart contracts. This allows for a more resilient and flexible stablecoin system, which may eventually include a broader range of asset types, from fiat currencies to more complex financial instruments. Currently, the total supply of Reserve Rights is capped at 100 billion tokens, with approximately 52% in circulation. The tokenomics feature a portion of the supply locked in a smart contract to ensure a controlled release over time, maintaining a balanced and sustainable ecosystem.
