HairDAO

HairDAO is a BioDAO that is part of the DeSci movement, focused on funding early-stage research and development in hair loss treatments. The initiative aims to accelerate the introduction of innovative solutions to the market by increasing financial support for research efforts in this field. What sets HairDAO apart is its unique approach to leveraging cryptocurrency for real-world advancements in hair loss intellectual property. By utilizing blockchain technology, HairDAO facilitates innovation and funding in a way that has not been seen in the industry before. Since its launch in November 2021, HairDAO has been an active participant in the bio.xyz cohort, collaborating with other organizations such as VitaDAO and AthenaDAO. The project made a significant milestone by minting its first intellectual property NFT, linked to a study investigating the effects of thyroid hormones on scalp skin organ cultures. Looking ahead, HairDAO has a robust pipeline of research studies planned to be funded and conducted, with the intention of minting additional IP-NFTs as progress is made towards finding effective treatments for hair loss. Currently, the token serves as a governance tool within the HairDAO ecosystem, where each token grants one vote in decision-making processes. This structure empowers the community to participate actively in the direction of the project.
