Fidel is a token associated with Project Transfidelity, which addresses the significant challenge of neurodegenerative diseases, including Alzheimer's Disease. These conditions affect millions worldwide and are primarily caused by the misfolding and aggregation of proteins, leading to brain cell death and cognitive decline. As individuals age, the susceptibility to errors during protein synthesis increases, resulting in protein clumping that forms harmful aggregates. The mission of Transfidelity is to enhance the accuracy of protein printing, thereby preventing the formation of these toxic aggregates. The project is spearheaded by Dr. Dimitri Scherbakov and Dr. Rashid Akbergenov, who collectively possess over 50 years of laboratory experience. They have identified two promising molecules that may enhance protein production efficiency, potentially mitigating the issues related to protein aggregation linked to dementia. Current treatments for neurodegenerative diseases primarily focus on alleviating symptoms caused by these protein aggregates, with limited success in stopping or reversing the diseases. Transfidelity aims to tackle the root cause of these conditions by minimizing the production of defective proteins, thus preventing aggregate formation from the outset. With a strong emphasis on developing novel intellectual property and an expanding market for neurodegenerative disease solutions, Transfidelity is positioned to make a meaningful contribution to improving the understanding and treatment of these disorders. The project strives to redefine how we approach aging and related cognitive challenges, offering hope for better outcomes in the future.
