Stader is a non-custodial, multi-chain liquid staking platform designed to provide users with easy access to top-tier staking options and rewarding decentralized finance (DeFi) opportunities across various Proof-of-Stake networks, including Ethereum, Polygon, BNB, and Hedera. With a growing community of over 85,000 stakers, Stader serves a diverse user base, from individual retail investors to exchanges and institutions, all seeking to earn rewards by staking their crypto assets. The SD token serves as the governance token for the Stader platform. As an ERC-20 token, it has a maximum supply of 120 million tokens distributed among more than 23,000 holders. The token plays a crucial role within the ecosystem, offering multiple utilities for its holders. One unique feature is the SD Utility Pool, which rewards SD holders for participating in the decentralization of Ethereum by delegating to the pool. Additionally, users can engage in liquidity mining by providing SD liquidity across decentralized exchanges (DEXs) to earn incentives, contingent upon governance decisions. Furthermore, node operators collaborating with ETHx are required to bond a minimum of 0.4 ETH worth of SD per validator, ensuring a robust structure for network operations. The SD token also empowers holders to participate in governance, allowing them to vote on critical matters such as protocol upgrades, reward policies, validator selection criteria, and future expansion strategies.
