Green Satoshi Token (GST) is the in-app currency for STEPN, a Web3 lifestyle application that combines social interaction and gamification. Users earn GST by engaging in physical activities such as walking, jogging, or running outdoors while wearing NFT Sneakers. This token replaces traditional experience points, allowing users to enhance their gaming experience. GST can be utilized within the STEPN ecosystem to level up and mint new NFT Sneakers. Players can acquire GST by moving and leasing their Sneakers, which are essential for progressing in the app’s various social and gamified features. Unlike the governance token GMT, which has a capped supply, GST is minted through active participation. The STEPN app not only enables users to earn GST but also offers a marketplace where players can lease or sell their NFT Sneakers. Earnings in GST are conveniently stored in an in-app wallet that includes a swap function for easy management of tokens. Developed by Find Satoshi Lab, an Australian fintech studio, STEPN has gained recognition by winning the Gaming Track at the 2021 Solana Ignition Hackathon. The project is also part of the DeFi Alliance Gaming cohort, highlighting its innovative approach to merging fitness and blockchain technology.
