Reserve Rights

Reserve Rights is a versatile ERC-20 token that plays a critical role in the Reserve protocol. It primarily serves two functions: it facilitates the overcollateralization of Reserve stablecoins, known as RTokens, through staking, and enables governance by allowing RSR holders to propose and vote on changes to RToken configurations. Launched in May 2019 following a successful initial exchange offering, Reserve Rights is designed to protect RToken holders in case of collateral token defaults. RSR holders can stake their tokens on one or multiple RTokens, providing essential first-loss capital. In return, these stakers can earn a share of the revenue generated by the RTokens they support, with potential returns increasing with the market cap of the staked RToken. What sets Reserve Rights apart from other tokens is its unique approach to stablecoin backing. Unlike most stablecoins tied to traditional fiat reserves, Reserve stablecoins are backed by a diverse basket of cryptocurrencies managed by smart contracts. This innovative model allows for flexibility and adaptability, with the potential to include various asset types over time. The Reserve Rights token has a fixed supply of 100 billion tokens, with approximately 52% currently in circulation. A significant portion of the total supply is locked in smart contracts, with funds released according to a predetermined schedule. This structure aims to ensure stability and longevity for the token and its ecosystem.
